Formerly Social X-periment
“Beer-ology 101”...This fruity and malty beer is in a class of its own with its sweet and bitter flavors. It graduates to an easy drinking beer. It’s the gateway to our Social X-periment. So grab a Social-X and enjoy it with a friend, neighbor, or the person sitting right next to you.

I must have gotten beer from the same spoiled batch s mvanaskie13. Bought in Annapolis, 10/25.
Dissapointed that I spent $11.99 for the six.

Picked up on my vacation in DE:
Opened the can and had to run to the sink to pour the foaming overflow to an appropriate location.... After foaming subsided poured the rest of the can into a shaker glass: color is straw, a little opaque, head is off white with fine bubbles and presents with about 1 inch of head and lingers quite well with lacing.
Smell is tart, touch sour like an oud bruin - hmm, can (and this was not the only one) must have been infected. Unfortunate because I was looking forward to a solid malty pale ale with low ABV. Not much else is noticeable.
Taste like the aroma is sour, tart, off - the sourness is not completely awful but it is not to style and not what you want to taste; light biscuit but no noticeable hops.
Mouthfeel is sharp, tart and strong on the tongue.
Overall a bad beer that seems to have been part of an infected batch - each of the can's were sour in my six pack.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, some sweetness, a bit of a medicinal smell. Taste has a definite medicinal flavor, along with some floral hops and malts, not good. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall this beer is best avoided.

My (usually) local, in-person trader, tone77, dropped this off for me in furtherance of The CANQuest (tm). He flew his snowbird self south for the winter, but I will still raise a toast to him. Prosit!
From the CAN: "Social X 'Beer-ology 101' ... This malty beer is in a class all its own. With sweet and bitter flavors. [sic] It graduates to an easy drinking beer. I Crack!ed it open and CANducted a gentle pour as I am currently wont to do. A swirl raised a brief finger of bone-white head that quickly became a memory of wisps upon the beer's surface. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with button-brightness & so I was joined by the Gelt Gang of Midas, Croesus & Mammon. Nose held a bready maltiness and a light hoppy grassiness. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was kind of biscuity, lightly hopped with Noble hops. It was mostly unobtrusive, but given its low ABV, that may be appealing, especially when at the shore. I really kept trying to tease out any notable flavors, but it was simply as clean as any well-made lager. They are saying that it is an Ale on the CAN & I am not going to disagree, but it was really light. Finish was semi-dry, lightly malty, but nothing worth getting excited about. I CAN only hope that other reviewers will chime in eventually.
