Tremist is a coppery-blonde, refreshing beer (saison type) with an alcohol volume of 6.4 %. This beer was born from a collaboration between Brouwerij Kazematten and Extremis, a Belgian producer of design furniture based in Poperinge.

The aroma reveals an irrepressible complexity. It almost seems like each of the ingredients is jostling to have its say. It is a sublime chain of taste sensations: a touch of sweet from the onset, captured straight away by a decisive aroma of malt, followed by a refreshing zestiness that, in its turn, flows into a balanced finish of bitter. The aromas of red apple, zest of citrus fruits, smoked wood and a hint of vanilla make for a highly balanced taste palette. An exceptional thirst-quencher.

Great light summer beer. Collaboration between extremis, bernardus & kazematten. Sweet in the front & back with a slight zing. Light mouth feel. Paired w chicken nicely.

Cloudy golden body with a fat finger of white foam and spotted lacing. Aromas of biscuit, freshly baked white bread, dried grass, huge belgian yeast, honey, orange zest, and pear. Taste adds a layer of earthy spices, very springy and pleasant. Feel is bright, bready, on the sweeter end of the old world saison spectrum, and floral. Had with some baguette and olive oil/balsamic on a temperate day and it was lovely

A delicious saison. It worked as refreshment after a bike ride in 90 degrees. It worked with a variety of cheeses as appetizer. And it even worked to soothe my mouth while eating Indian Biranyi. A very versatile saison !

Tremist Looks like a great saison: just enough pop from the cork; just enough foam followed by just enough active protein swirls; then, lily pads of excitement. After all that visual pleasure, balance starts with the Smells... which are modest; some fruit and just enough spice from the active yeast. Tastes follow closely, but in mid-palate I detect a few hops modestly employed. In my mouth, not only is Tremist bubbly and refreshing.... but it is soft, soft, soft.

Bought at Woodman's in Kenosha, Wisconsin. My copy is two months past the Best By Date; but I couldn't tell. In its prime, this must be a fabulous saison.

Because they have only 4 brews on BA, Kazematten's cafe offers variety via some deal with St. Bernardus... probably in my Top 10 Belgians I intend to visit; constituting my BBBL (Belgian Brewers Bucket List.) Tremist's bottle and Kazematten's website also does links to Extremis, who, interestingly, makes some cool outdoor furniture. Their hometown is Ypres, a pivotal site in World War 1 because it was first where chemical weapons (mustard gas) was used. So in the spirit of healing nationalism gone amuck, I just might add Kazematten to my B Team BBBL. But for sure, I will have Tremist again if I ever find it. As a fellow Euro Saison Head (crediting StonedTrippin's phrase), I just may bump Kazematten to the A Team BBBL.

8/10/21 Finally, I found Tremist again and, again, at Kenosha Woodman's (at least someone cares.) Poured into a St. Bernardus tulip (its partner), I've edited the above review; but changed little in the rating as Extremis deserves it. This copy should have been drunk by June 2020, per the top of the cage. Again, I never would have thought this saison was past its prime. Paired well with my world-famous ratatouille; a key test for me to like a saison a lot. Tremist is worth pursuing and I hope to find it again. If not, it will be a BBBL destination. Counting on UnTappd.

Nice solid golden color with a thick head with decent retention.
Aroma with notes Saison yeast, some medicine, pineapple and oranges.
Flavor with notes of candied sugar, a bit of orange peel, herbal hops and pineapple. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness.
Bordering medium body with somewhat effervescent carbonation.
Sweet Saison with lots of candied sugar and orange and herbal hops. With less sugar it would be really refreshing.
Cor sólida dourada com um colarinho denso de duração decente.

Orangish gold body, cloudy and with a two finger white, fluffy head. Very sticky lacing and a permanent cap.
Spice from the yeast in the aroma, slightly funky and with dried apricot.
Bready and fruity with apricot and pear. Mildly funky, plenty of spice from the yeast.
Medium bodied with a soft mouth feel. High carbonation. Dry, spicy finish.
