This is a colab w Phantom Carriage--and my first Alvarado St. beer.
Even before I can pour this out I can smell it--wow, what an aroma! A blast of hop juiced orange hits the olfactory. Smells fantastic. Looks terrible--cloudy, turbid, opaque, you name it. This is not a clear and clean brew.
Big juicy flavor, with a mix of orange and citrus atop hints of pineapple and even a little pine. There's a bitter edge to this to bring it into focus. This was a good one. What a great introduction to Alvarado St.

16oz tallboy can. Served in a snifter glass. Pours a hazy, milky and cloudy orange-yellow body, like grapefruit juice, one finger white head, thick retention, lots of lacing. Smells of grapefruit pith, zest, citrus, a bit of lemon, light caramel. Flavour follows; pith, zest, grapefruit, a little bit of citrus and light lemon, not much in way of a sweet caramel backbone, a slight spiciness. Mouthfeel is medium lighter bodied, soft, mild-moderate spice and bitterness on the backend.

These beer was delicious, not super hopped up which I like but NE ipa's seem to be more balanced with the malts. Like most of the beers I've had from these guys, will get again for sure.
