Collaboration with Pure Project Brewing
Collaboration Double IPA with Pure Project, brewed with local Monterey county honey and rye malt from a farm in SLO. A really unique dry hop that features New Zealand Green Bullet, German Hallertau Blanc, and a good old helping of Mosaic. Very intense tropical aromas of mango and passionfruit along with a pronounced floral note from the honey added towards the end of fermentation.
50 IBU

Can dated "Burp Hops 05/24/2017" into a tulip glass.
L: Pours hazy bronze orange with 1.5 fingers of medium-low density eggshell head with minimal retention and left sporadic lacing.
S: Very floral and tropical, perhaps some Citra hops. Nose is bright and vibrant. Citrus shows up as it warms.
T: Follows the nose well, wondering if there's some Nelson hops in there, with noticeable yet subtle spiciness from the rye. Finishes with some bitterness and astringency, astrigency lingers a bit with some dryness. Very happy there wasn't any substantial detectable sweetness from the honey.
F: Medium bodied and medium carbonation, creamy with a slick finish and easy drinking for the ABV.
O: A very nicely done DIPA, that left me wishing for OG Alpine Nelson. I'd definitely grab this one again.

Dirty orange color. Nice 2-finger thick foamy head. Smells of citrus, mango, bright and bitter hops, very rich and intoxicating hop aroma with the malt and honey coming on at the end. Taste pretty much follows, except that the rye malt and honey provide balance, and the hops are consistent throughout, especially on the finish. The feel is quite smooth, somewhat creamy. Overall, another great hoppy offering from Alvarado.
