Hop hazed and incredibly juicy, this was our first ever brewed IPA and remains our top selling beer and local favorite at our Monterey brewpub. It’s brewed with 100% British Maris Otter pale malt as it’s base, which contributes a creamy texture and a tad more body than your typical dry, West Coast IPA. As with most of our hoppy beers, a majority of the bitterness comes directly from whirlpool additions in the boil, with the intent of maximizing hop aroma & flavor. Minesweeper is dry hopped excessively with Simcoe and Citra hops.

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery beer glass
A: Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber with a frothy pale tan head that settles to a firm layer and laces beautifully.
S: Dank herbal notes, spicy pine, zesty citrus, a strong hit of tropical fruit, bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Opens with a mix of resinous spicy pine and zesty citrus, tangerine, lemon, lime, and grapefruit, followed with a nice fruity side, pineapple, papaya, overripe mango, peach, and apricot, passion fruit, and a little melon, underlying herbal tones, bready malt, and a little caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderately lively carbonation.
O: It's been a while since I've had the OG (definitely gotta track it down now) so it's tough to make a comparison, but this one stands very nicely on its own. Really solid West Coast IPA.
