A beer inspired by nostalgic soccer games of our youth, Halftime Treat is fermented with expressive yeast for a fruity aroma & flavor profile, and then dry hopped with Simcoe, Citra & Mosaic for a pronounced citrus character. We then augment the base beer with Tangerines, vanilla & a touch of lactose to transform it into an orange creamsicle of a beer.

Its an interesting brew, appreciate what it is but it's a one and done for me. Reminds me of an Orange Julius. For this style, Great Notion's Orange Creamsicle is the only one I grab again for my palate and preferences.

Pours a muriky brownish orange with fine, soapy head.

Smell is very orangey with a hint of vanilla and rosewater.

Taste is all about the oranges, tangy and sweet and the same time. Slight hint of the vanilla, and some grapefruit and licorice on the finish along with a soft hop bite. Slightly dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium and soft, well carbonated.

Overall, a very interesting beer, sort of like a Mimosa beer.

More haziness from Alvarado Street Brewery as Half Time Treat brings a big time Valencia orange flavor to the game.

This beer pours a dark, hazy orange, with very little head that quickly dissipated, leaving some spotty lacing.

The smell is full of orange goodness, which is inviting and very pleasant. Just a hint of hops and a minimal malt characteristic, the fruity orange aromas dominate.

Taste follows the nose with a great orange flavor that lingers all the way through. The citrus flavor bursts in your mouth, yet doesn't kill the overall enjoyment of the beer. A good mouthfeel with some low carbonation, truly a great half time treat for your favorite game.

It's a combination of an Orange Julius and Mimosa combined. Sweet orange aroma with an orange and vanilla taste, along with a splash of brut sparking wine. Just the right amount hops to finish it off. This is my favorite Alvarado beer! Please brew more! Consumed in both cans and on tap and very consistent.

More hazy goodness from ASB. Straw color, small head, very little lacing. The focus is obviously on citrus/oranges. Nice full fruity aroma, taste follows with maybe a bit of alcohol apparent. Feel is great, zingy and lively, restrained bitterness.

Overall, ASB delivers as expected.

Update canned 7/31/18, consumed 8/4/18

This batch includes addition of vanilla beans & lactose - I'm not as big of a fan, I feel like this is a clear step back from the previous batch without these additions.

Canned 4/23/18.
Look: Dark yellow with plenty of haze. Almost 2 fingers worth of a bubbly white head, with generous amounts of residual lacing.
Smell: Full of orange and tangerine as expected. Very nice smelling. Small malt and hop presence on the note, giving a slight bready and earthy smell as well. The orange/tangerine smell dominates the nose, and in a good way.
Taste: Follows the nose, and again with the emphasis on the orange. Bursting with citrus flavor and very enjoyable. Hop presence is noted but minimal.
Feel: Medium body and weight, with low-moderate levels of carbonation.
Overall: Very enjoyable. Easy drinking, and I like the implementation of the valencia oranges. I am grateful to have tried. Cheers!
