Collaboration with Moksa Brewing Co
Collaboration juicy double IPA with our friends from Moksa Brewing in Rocklin. We've combined our methods to bring you an assertively bangin' hop aroma & flavor in this beer, with a pillowy-soft mouthfeel and very low bitterness. Simcoe & Citra take the lead with amplified fruity esters courtesy of an expressive, English yeast strain.
Malt: American 2-Row, Unmalted Wheat, Malted Oats, Flaked Oats
Hops: Simcoe, Citra

Good dipa pushing it at 8.1%. Super cloudy almost milky color with full head taking a bit to dissipate. Couldn’t stand the wait for it to settle so went for it because this is Alvarado Street which is one of the best in the Monterey Bay Area! Citra and Simcoe hopped though citrus very prevalent in the smell it is less so on the taste maybe due to high abv. It has a nice flavor but is heavy in the mouth, seems to taste better towards the end... or maybe I’m getting buzzed...

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery beer glass
A: Pours super hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that slowly settles to a firm layer and leaves some thick lacing.
S: Tropical and stone fruit dominate, some citrus, a hint of melon, a little pine, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Tropical and stone fruit, papaya, overripe pineapple, peach, apricot, passion fruit, and guava, a hint of melon, citrus, lemon lime and orange, a touch of spicy pine, biscuity malt, and a fair bit of caramel sweetness.
M: Chewy, on the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate.
O: Tasty imperial NEIPA, though a little on the sweet side. Probably more of an air conditioned sipper than a beach beer.

Really hazy pale yellow color. Aroma has milky yeast and dank, juicy hops. Taste is juicy, astringent, a bit boozy. Dry mouthfeel, medium body and carbonation. Overall decent but too dry and the alcohol is a quite evident.

Pours a hazy golden yellow, with fine head.
Smell is bright and summery with notes of lemonade, mango popsicle and hints of passionfruit and oranges.
Taste is citrusy and crisp with hints of pineapple and booze, and a moderate bitterness and hop bite. Slight sweetness on the finish.
Mouthfeel is medium, soft and airy, but a bit undercarbonated.
Overall, a very nice, bright DIPA, really summery.

Pours completely murky yellow, with about 1/3 finger of head on an aggressive pour. Head dissipates fairly quickly (already pointing to low carbonation), and minimal lacing left on the glass. Small ring of bubbles remains around the edge. Smell is first of all tropical, but citrusy notes are there as well. Taste follows the nose. Overall, the smell is fairly pungent. Sweet hoppy notes, undoubtedly coming from the Simcoe hops, dominated both front and middle of the taste. Citrusy notes start in the middle, and become more apparent toward the end. Aftertaste is hoppy sweet. Great overall pillowy mouthfeel. I'd say that there's a tad too little carbonation. I'm quite happy wit this beer. It's a great NEIPA. It's far from my NEIPA of the year, but if I'm honest, this is because Simcoe are not my palate's favorite hops.

Update 8/3/19, this week's release
Looks much better, full murky orange juice look with a nice head and tons of thick lacing.
Just amazing, intense aroma & flavor with a perfect balance of fruity and dank weedy hops. One of their best hazies.

Canned 8/13/18, consumed 8/16/18
Poured hazy & cloudy straw with a tiny head that quickly fully dissapated and left no lacing.
Aroma is terrific, thick citrus fruits & peel, piney & danky hop notes. Taste follows with amplified fruity yeast notes. Smooth, creamy, lower carbonation and a good low bit of bitterness. Overall, an outstanding hazy DIPA from Alvarado Street & Moksa. Up there with my favs from ASB.
