A pie-inspired kettle sour ale brewed with boysenberries and Tahitian vanilla beans. Liquid slice of heaven in a glass!

Can from ABV.
Murky maroon with a pink head with decent retention and no lacing, this looks hilariously over the top. The nose is intensely jammy and fruity with a big berry character, along with enough of a blend of lactose, vanilla and cracker malt to bring to mind the poopy diaper of a breastfed infant ( And I know, cos i just changed one ). Not that it's a bad thing, it's just an observation. Buttery crust, vanilla, rich and decadent. The palate opens with a huge, jammy boysenberry character, with the blend of blackberries and red raspberries quite clear. The fragrant fruitiness of raspberries blends well with the dark broody depth of the blackberries. This also pairs nicely with vanilla and the vaguely beer like base that has a light lactic sourness and a little cracker malt. This really doesn't seem beer like to me, almost like a lighter smoothie. Light in body with soft, fine carbonation that allows the focus to be on the fruit, this beer is quite decadent, and is the logicql extension of beers like the New Glarus fruit sours and the early Dogfish Head fruit beers. Recommended, despite the $6/16oz can price tag.
