What's an Italian-style Pilsner? The ones we've encountered have an unmistakably fresh Noble hop aroma; floral, tea-like, a little spicy and quite elegant. We chose to dry hop this clean lil' nugget of a beer with German Tettnang hops. Extraordinarily drinkable with a zippy bitterness and crisp finish.

Canned 06 Feb , purchased at ABV.
A clear yellow with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing this looks good. The nose is firmly hoppy and a little dusty. The zip I've experienced with other Italian pilsners is absent here, this is strangely subdued. A light grain note is present. The plate opens bitter with lemon, lemon zest, a little grain and some earth. There is , rather strangely, not a whole lot going on here. The hop character has a mildly pungent note with a slight new world hop character along with the earth and lemon. The palate is light, thin and unfortunately rather low in carbonation. This keeps thing rather quiet , which is not typical. Drying with a light lemon flavor that lingers, this is decent.

I was intrigued by the description "Italian-style pilsner" and being a big fan of the pilsner style I had no choice but to try it.
Poured from a 16 oz. can into my trusty nonic pint.
Beer was 2 months old to the day.
Light golden yellow with a thin white head (despite an aggressive pour).
It looks and smells like a classic pilsner.
Taste is spicy and biscuity with a pleasantly sweet finish.
Light, refreshing, and thoroughly enjoyable.
Overall good ... very good but I'll be sticking with the more traditional bohemian-style pilsners.

From a can, fresh!
This pours with amazing clarity. There’s a bright white cap of foam that quickly dissipates. The aroma has hints of grass and grain, without either being overly dominant. It’s crisp, zippy, and finishes with a clean snap.

Canned 1/22/19. Not sure what an Italian-Style pilsner is, but I am excited nonetheless.
L: Light gold in color, completely transparent. No head formation but does have moderate amounts of lacing on the glass. Overall the beer is nicely presented.
S: Grainy with aromas of lemon and black pepper.
T: Very grainy and florally with hints of lemon, orange and citrus peel/zest.
F: Light in body and weight. Smooth with crisp finish. Refreshing feel.
O: An interesting brew to the ASB lineup and something I find enjoyable. It is totally, dare I say it, crushable, given the nature and low abv. I am very glad to have tried. Cheers!

Clear golden brew with adequate foam in the PIraat tulip. LIght body with a modest spritz on the tongue. Lovely aroma of melon. Smooth and even a little buttery, but in a nice way. Barely bitter but a nice touch of fruity acidity to go with the biscuity malt.
HIghly sippable. Apparently there is such a thing as Italians making Pilsner style beers with European hops. Seems like a better idea than some recent brewing innovations. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bottlecraft in Liberty Station.

Look: Light yellow color, same as what you get on your normal Chech pilsners. Less head formation than I expected . Standard head retention and lacing for the pilsner/lager style.
Smell: I'm not great at describing lager aromas, but what I'm getting here smells like a Helles lager than a pilsner.
Taste: Noble hops and biscuity malt. But then again, if I haven't read word "pilsner" on the label, I would guess that this was a Helles. A bit of a lemony thing in the background. Sort of watery too.
Feel: Less than standard carbonation, light body.
Overall: This is a very well-made beer (as are all Alvarado lager-types). I'm not sure what an Italian-style pilsner is, because to me, this tastes more like a quality lager. I guess, I really am enjoying this, and that is the most important thing.
