No canning date, but does have "Dutch Boy Dave" stamped on the bottom of the can. I love what Alvarado has been making, and cream ales are something I admire so I am looking forward to this.
L: Pours a plum-purple/red color. A slow and simple pour yielded about 2 fingers of a small-bubbled pinkish white cap which dissipated rapidly. Mild amounts of residual lacing. Color-wist, it's a cool looking brew.
S: The smell lets you know it's a cream ale. Smells of cream and milk but that is about it. I am not picking up on any cherry aromas, nor the vanilla.
T: Cream ale through and through. It is like whipped cream meets some sort of cherry. It is hard to describe exactly how it tastes- on one hand, it is really good. On the other, the cherry tastes medicinal, but that is just due to the nature of the cherry flavor. Overall, it tastes natural and good, not artificial. Finish is straight vanilla and lingering flavors that remind me of whipped cream. The more I drink it, the better I like it.
F: Great feel. Medium in body and weight. Low to moderate carbonation, allowing this beer to feel full yet enjoyable.
O: At first this beer was in the 3.5 range, then it worked up to the 3.75 range and I am happy where it sits. It's an enjoyable brew, and one that I would drink again. I am very grateful to have tried. Cheers!
