Make Mischief is our newest hop creation and employs an experimental hopping method that cranks the oil factor while maximizing a soft and elegant mouthfeel. We've chosen our hand-selected Citra for this round, dry-hopped at an audacious rate for peak equitorial vibes of passion fruit and mango, and enough myrcene dankness for balance and a reminder that this is, in fact, a double IPA and not a smoothie.

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery pint glass
A: Pours hazy golden yellow amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a light layer and laces nicely.
S: Mix of juicy tropical fruit and citrus, diesel, pine, kinda green and grassy, faint herbal notes, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness. Very much like sticking your nose into a big bag of Citra pellets.
T: Tropical and stone fruit, passion fruit, peach, apricot, and mango, diesel, citrus, orange, lemon, lime, and a hint of grapefruit, herbal spicy pine, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: A little on the fuller side of medium body, slightly prickly carbonation, soft on the palate, with a touch of hop burn.
O: If I had to summarize this beer in 1 word it would be "intense". I've never had a Citra beer throw that diesel flavor that in my experience is usually reserved for Southern hem hops. Aside from that, the classic notes are all there, but amped up. They kept the sweetness in check which really helps it stand out from all the other Citra juice bombs.

22 day old can into a imperial nonic pint.
L: Murky dirty white orange with 1+ finger of low density white head with moderate retention and left minimal lacing.
A: Herbal and floral on top of tropical fruit, dank attributes show as it warms.
T: Follows the nose, but with more prominence of the dank elements. Things dont mesh well together, seem to be fighting rather than complimentary. Finishes with mild bitterness, but plenty of astringency and high acidity.
F: Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation, tongue tingles from acidity, throat burns on swallow.
O: Think this is the first beer I've had from Alvarado Street where I've noticed hop burn, and not just a little bit. I've seen others talk about it in the forums, but until now I've eluded it. This beer was not particularly pleasant for my palate and preferences, I will not repeat not recommend.

L: cloudy and juicy. like a golden orange juice.
S: hugely citrusy with floral undertones. Dankness lies beneath.
T: full flavored citrus followed by pine and earthiness. An amazing case study in citra?
M: moderate carbonation brings the acidity forward and makes the flavors dance on the tongue. silky and chewy.
O: wow. Wish I bought more than one. This is on my list of what a perfect hazy should be

Solid ASB single-hop Citra hazy DIPA. Pours hazy & cloudy light orange, good head with low retention and little lacing.
Tropical/citrus aroma, same but more amplified flavor. Feel is medium, lively carbonation, doesn't have the body & creaminess of some of their other hazies. Low bitterness.
I'd say this compares with Fieldwork's Pulp although that's a single and this is a double. One of the better Citra single-hop beers around here.
