1st review of this beer on BA. Picked this up in September 2019 on the trip through CA on the way to go see the Stones at the Rose Bowl. Yeast driven it says on the label. Interesting.
Has that dull cloudy, hazy yellow appearance, big 4/5" white head on top. Real good retention. Poured into a 2003 Marquette Final Four pint glass. The aroma was more hop than yeast driven, which you know, is how 99% of pale ales are and should be IMHO. In fact, there wasn't anything discernable about the yeast here.
Taste has a chewy oat and wheat like hazy malt body alongside a hoppy bitter companionship. Kind of a cool concept, use a real sawft chewy malt base like that of New Glory's Gummy Worms, but pair it upside a 100% bittering hop like Simcoe. Its like having your heater fight your air conditioner when your partner turns the heat up but leaves all the windows open in the house. Except you're not paying for it, and it tastes good, so its win win.
