Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery pint glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a slight chill haze and a frothy off white head that slowly settles to a firm layer that hangs around and leaves plenty of thick lacing.
S: Slightly dank grassy herbal notes, citrus zest, melon, exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, a hint of Southern Hem diesel, biscuity bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
T: Citrus zest, grapefruit, lime, and tangerine, exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, melon, pineapple, kiwi, white grape, guava, gooseberry, apricot, passion fruit, and papaya, a bit resinous, dank grassy herbal notes, hints of Southern Hem Diesel, biscuity bready malt, and a touch of caramel sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Took me a little while to calibrate my palate to what this one is; a modern more refined but still very West Coast IPA. The bitterness isn't as assertive as the OGs, but it's still there. The focus is on all the resinous herbal notes instead of all the juicy fruit that these hops (especially Galaxy) can bring. Towards the end the flavor profile reminded me a lot of Double Dank Shake. Still not my favorite beer from them, though I do like it more than OG Westeez. I'm sure some will enjoy it more than I do.
