Collaboration with Great Notion Brewing
For Batches 11 - 20 of our Motor Oil stout, we’re reaching out to the best stout producers in the game to make the series collaborative and expand our interpretations of the style. For Batch Twelve, we’ve teamed up with the Pacific Northwest’s Great Notion to create a French toast inspired Imperial Breakfast Stout. Together we've created a base beer layered with caramel malts, light roast, and dark candi syrup to compliment a blend of rich maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, and Vertigo coffee to fully embody this breakfast favorite.

12/22/21can from the bistro in Carmel, CA. Pours black with a finger of dark tan foamy head that dissipates, boozy lacing, smell is Herseys/fudge syrup, big maple syrup, dark roast coffee, hints of cinnamon, and vanilla, taste is straight Herseys/fudge syrup, big maple syrup note up front, followed by chocolate, dark roast coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla, coffee roast character and cinnamon linger, feel is thick and full bodied, medium velvety carbonation. Quite sweet and maple syrup forward, but well rounded by the roast coffee, cinnamon, and vanilla, French toast for sure.I am a sucker for a good maple syrup stout, but I hope to some day taste the base beer for this.
