The original slope-nosed "one-box" exterior designed mini van from 1986 - 1997 is now the stuff of legend. How best to honor the iconic blue oval? A crater-full of progressive hops and hop products including lupulin concentrated Haas Hops Incognito during fermentation along with Cryo Pop from Yakima Chief. These two, in concert with Galaxy and Strata weave a foundation of peach, pineapple and strawberry flavors. Restrained hop bite, an uber-soft mouthfeel and a nostalgia of the holiday road.

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery Willi Beecher glass
A: Pours hazy golden orange amber with a frothy cream white head that settles to a firm layer and
S: All the fruit, tropical, orchard, citrus, you name it, a bit of pine, grassy herbal notes, a touch floral, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Fruit salad, mix of a little bit of everything, cherry, pineapple, papaya, apricot, peach, mango, orange, grapefruit, lemon, under ripe strawberry, hints of melon, passion fruit, and maybe even banana, a touch of spicy pine, grassy herbal notes, diesel, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, moderate carbonation, a little hop burn comes out as it warms.
O: I'm always down to try beers that use new hops and techniques so I had to give this one a go. It's cool, but I'm not in love with the flavor. The Strata brings some unique notes that stand out in the wrong way. Ends up feeling like there's too much competing against each other rather than a focused target. I hope they keep playing around with the new hop products and get their use dialed in.
