Rich and full bodied yet surprisingly drinkable, notes of toffee, chocolate, and caramel balanced with toasted bread and a subtle espresso like bitterness

On tap at Alvarado Street Brewery's production taproom in Salinas
A: Pours dark brown nearly black with a frothy tan head that settles to a thin layer and laces nicely.
S: Roasty, earthy char, dark fruit, espresso, bittersweet dark chocolate, molasses, and burnt sugar.
T: Roasty, earthy char, espresso, a little bittersweet chocolate emerges more as it warms, dark fruit, plum, cherry, date, and fig, molasses, a faint touch of smoke, and a little toffee and burnt sugar sweetness.
M: On the fuller side of medium body, somewhat mild carbonation.
O: Baltic porters aren't my favorite style of porter, but I appreciate them, and this one is well done. Not sure it would do great in a wider release, but it hits the spot as a draft option on a cold rainy night.
