For the love of Pils in all forms! Malty, hoppy, neutral, we'll take it. Any type of Pils and we're in. And it helps to have some good friends that make the best lagers in the world! So we employed their careful advice and guidance to a current trend: West Coast Pils. A blend of California grown Admiral Maltings pilsner and traditional two-row malts, along with a bit of rice to keep the color extra light, then we layered a blend of old and new world hop varieties: Spalt Select, Mosaic, and McKenzie.

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery Willi Beecher glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and leaves some light lacing.
S: Ripe tropical and stone fruit jump out of the glass, followed by grassy tones, spicy herbal notes, citrus zest, a touch of pine, floral hints, and grainy bready malt.
T: Zesty citrus, grapefruit, lemon, lime, and orange, spicy grassy herbal notes, a little pine, underlying tropical and stone fruit, passion fruit, blueberry, guava, nectarine, apricot, and a hint of star fruit, floral notes, and grainy bready malt with a fairly dry finish.
M: Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, a little chewy.
O: West Coast Pils indeed. You can taste everything that went into it playing its part, combining elements of a pale ale into a Pils, and it works beautifully. The hop combo gives it a great depth of flavor and delivers a few unique elements. Pilsners rarely excite me, but I could see myself pulling another one of these out of a cooler. Really well done collab.
