This Fresh Hop IPA is the result of the highly coordinated efforts of Bale Breaker, Alaska Airlines, and Yakima Chief Hops. A thousand pounds of a choice lot of fresh Citra hops from Bale Breaker's own hop yards was harvested, loaded onto an Alaska Airlines flight, picked up at the airport, and then poured into our kettle in a matter of hours. The depth of hop flavor is unlike anything we can produce with traditionally processed hops and we couldn't have made such a large batch without the help of our good friends.

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Willi Beecher glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.
S: Herbal, green, resinous, grassy, lively citrus, underlying tropical and stone fruit, floral notes, a touch earthy and spicy, and some slightly toasty bready malt.
T: Green, resinous, slightly spicy, grassy, herbal, slightly earthy, citrus, grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon, tropical and stone fruit, peach, apricot, mango, papaya, and passion fruit, floral notes, and slightly toasty bready malt.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly oily.
O: I was lucky enough to be in Washington shortly after hop harvest this year and try some of Bale Breaker's fresh hop beers at their Ballard tap room, so this one is taking me right back up there. Just screams wet hop goodness and shows off Citra hops in a different light that not many get to see.
