It's the start of a neue journey - just 90 cases of hoppy ale reimagined and built without compromise. A heavily scrutinized, untethered approach that strives for parity between outlandish hopping rates and soft, smooth edges.

Pure unadulterated hop mass.
This beer was a challenge to us. We wanted to see how much hop oil we could cram into a beer while still maintaining that luscious silky mouthfeel that's a hallmark of the Hazy IPA style. We took about 10 lbs per barrel of T90 hop pellets, on top of 2 lbs per barrel of Cryo, including Citra, Strata, Riwaka, Nelson, Waimea, and Krush, and just hammered this thing.

On tap at Alvarado Street Brewery's Production Tasting Room

A: Pours hazy golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a thin layer and leaves a little nice lacing.

S: Fresh citrus juice, soft tropical, exotic, and stone fruit, berries, a touch resinous and green, a little dank, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

T: Super smooth juicy tropical and stone fruit, peach rings, strawberry, passion fruit, gooseberry, guava, white grape, and a hint of pineapple, ripe citrus, lime, tangerine, and grapefruit, green and resinous, a touch dank, biscuity malt, and caramel sweetness.

M: Medium body, mild to moderate carbonation, soft on the pale, with just a touch of hop burn.

O: Didn't think I'd get to try this one given the limited run, but my travels happened to take me right to the source. Ridiculously smooth, reminds me of Other Half's Oat Cream IPAs. The dank resinous side definitely emerged more as it warmed. If this beer was essentially a technique testbed for future brews, I can't wait to see what they crank out next.
