A Pub Ale brewed with a not to English Pub culture and their sessionable cask ales. This copper colored beauty is small by design, but thoughtfully crafted to be greater than the sum of its parts. English Maris Otter malt, a touch of crystal malt, a pinch of hops, and that's about it. The result is delicious without drawing attention to itself. It isn't just sneaky good, it is downright cozy. So pull up a chair and stay a while.

Dark coppery amber with abundant foam in the chalice. I don't think this taste like any English Bitter I've had. I would think it's more of an English Brown Ale since it's so malty and roasted tasting. Also the hops are barely perceptible. In any case it's quite substantial for the low alcohol content and the creamy carbonation is a plus. Flavor is toasted grain with nuts and a few walnut skins. For 4% it's a winner. Down the hatch! From the 16 oz can purchased at San Diego Wine & Beer. Dated 12/26/24-- over a year old, but perfectly drinkble.

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery Willi Beecher glass
A: Pours copper amber with a frothy eggshell white head that settles to a light layer and leaves a little spotty lacing.
S: Bready, toasty, slightly nutty, stone fruit, floral hints, grassy notes, and just a touch of toffee sweetness.
T: Toasty bready malt, faintly nutty, soft stone fruit, apricot, cherry, plum, and peach, a bit grassy, floral hints, subtle minerality, and just a touch of toffee sweetness.
M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, mild to moderate moderate carbonation.
O: I wish British styles were more popular so I could get something like this more than once in a blue moon. Not the kinda beer that will wow you, but it'll absolutely satisfy you and keep you coming back for more. Wish I had more availability for watching the Stanley Cup playoffs.
