We infused this absolute crusher of a West Coast IPA with incredibly punchy hops from a place so far to the east, it actually to the west. As always, the oily New Zealand-grown goodness of Nelson and Riwaka draw out the unique character of a third hop. In this case, unapologetically resinous Waimea, that brings its bright citrus and assertive dankness to the table.

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery Willi Beecher glass
A: Pours golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces quite nicely.
S: Resinous, grassy, dank, Southern Hem diesel, citrus zest, a little underlying exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, and slightly bready biscuity malt.
T: Zesty citrus, grapefruit, lime, and tangerine, resinous pine, slightly grassy and dank, a little Southern Hem diesel, underlying exotic, tropical, and stone fruit, white grape, apricot, green papaya, underripe pineapple, gooseberry, and passion fruit, slightly bready biscuity malt, and a fairly dry finish.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp.
O: The Waimea and Riwaka really team up to dominate the front half with dank zesty green resinous notes, while the fruity side of the Nelson kinda lurks in the shadows adding a little depth. I personally think this whole series could benefit from just a touch more sweetness to make that fruity side pop a bit more and help balance things, but after a half dozen + different versions, it's pretty clear this is what they're after style wise. It's another solid variant, but not one I'd probably want more than 1 of at a time.
