Purchased this just down the road from the brewery at the Gilsum, NH General Store on 4/16/19. So it is still being brewed. 22 oz. Bomber bottle.
Unfilteted= cloudy with plenty of left over yeast. A brownish amber color, muddy with a rather robust, off-white foam cap. Dissipates slow, solid ring and minor lacing leftover.
There is a sweet, maple malty aroma, along with subtle fruity esters from the Belgian Abbey yeast and sour, bready herbal hints from the lager yeast. Mint leaves and dark wheat graininess pops out of the nose later.
The Belgian yeast tastes like zesty herbs and spices, kinda French Saison ...
The malt has dark grains and sandlewood flavours, mint and grasses from the hops and a rather laid-back mouthfeel for being bottle conditioned.
A zesty effect with dry grassy herbs hits you on the upper pallet, but mellows and becomes rather thin in the finish.
I like of the unique aspects of using Belgian and lager yeast, as i t has some interesting subtle tones. Overall, the flavors just don't come together in any cohesive way. Moderate to very good home brew level.

Bottle from Bert’s Deep amber color with just a touch of haze and a good sized long lasting frothy off white head. Spicy earthy herbal yeasty on the nose with something that reminds me of limes. Somewhat of a toffee burnt sugary thing going on with the malts. Feels almost like that British toffee butterscotch diacetyl maltiness I sometimes get from a bitter or English Brown. The beer is different to be sure, but wasn’t really for me.

From the 22 oz. bottle. Sampled on June 24, 2015. Spring 2015 Batch.
I added this beer as a Lager although they describe it as a Belgian Abbey with Lager Yeast. It seems to be in own category.
Medium amber-red pour with modest off-white head.
Aroma of caramel malts, sweetness, mild fruit, and mild spice including pepper.
About a medium body.
The taste begins with sweet caramel malts and mild earthy hops but there is a peppery finish. Not as much in the way of coriander or clove.
