From the 650 ml. bottle. No date. Sampled on January 15,2017.
It is an attractive looking, unfiltered medium amber pour under a decent and lasting off-white head.
The body is medium for the most part.
The taste has a kind of toasty bread character, yeast, and maybe some spent fruit. Not bad at all.

Excellent! A barrel-aged saison, I am all for it. This peer pours a slightly hazy golden color with light carbonation. Aroma is fruity with classic saison mustiness. Flavor is much stronger than many saisions. Too many saisons are mild gym sock, not this one. The flavor is slightly sour with a hint of lemon and the classic farmhouse character. The barrel-ageing give just enough of a bourbon character to make this a real classic. One of my favorites.

Bottle from Bert's
Pours a hazy deep golden color with a decent sized bubbly white head that persists. Spicy earthy with lots of woody notes in the nose. Whatever the dominant spice in ketchup is, I'm picking that up here. Clove? The flavor is over oaked with an almost cedar like spicy bitterness to it. There's an earthy spicy yeast character here as well as some sweet bready caramel maltiness. This is not a horrible beer just a bit over oaked, and extremely overpriced. I put back the 23 dollar bottle of 5.8% oaked beer from this brewery when I noticed the price at checkout.
