This Extra Special Bitter is brewed with loads of English base and specialty malts giving it a rich toasted caramel flavor with subtle chocolate undertones. Moderate early kettle hop additions provide a firm bitterness without competing with the sweet aroma of the malt. Deep maroon in color, this beer has a thick creamy head that will linger to the last drop.

What I would expect from this style in the same water area. Wish there were more brewers in the ground water area zones around here. Wish they would make it permanent flavor but my one gripe in the local beer world is they are all lack originality in offerings for the most part and together they will not stand on the same offerings and divided they will prosper despite what Pink Floyd said. The local beer scene lacks variety in beer styles and without and ESB or bitter style on the house styles they will fade because only 3 or 4 of the other styles will stand out in the marketplace and this one would be so much different from the IPA, the porter, the amber, the pale ale ale the wheat beer or pilsner or kolsh style nearly every brewer in town has. Just because the cities first brewer has it in a cask does not mean someone else cannot brew it themselves. There are few stouts locally, seldom you might find another style but craft beer is only craft by the differences. I will continue to explore out of state beers for this reason. This beer is better than the other choices at chilly water but they are still looking to fit the other successful styles and nobody in town has much to offer in the session able loves.
