what kind of saison is this? its crystal clear and caramel colored, smells like belgian yeast, and has almost none of the traditional saison elements in it at all. the color isnt all that concerning, i mean, some are occasionally clear, others are dark and all, so i guess its not that off putting. just dont see the wheat or the yeast in it. maybe more troubling is that i dont smell or taste them either, which means its not so much a saison, at least to me. the belgian yeast doesnt taste bad, but its not like a saison, there is a spice, like maybe some rye, or maybe some warmer fermented yeast, its fine, but its not what i was searching for here. carbonation isnt bad, but this whole beer just feels like a miss to me. no off flavors or anything, but this is poor in terms of representing the saison style. these guys were far better at the hoppy stuff than they were at these types of things, at least in my one experience at the taproom.
