Poured into grip shaped goblet: color is transparent straw gold, nice effervescence, head presents 2 inches thick and dissipates quickly to thin top, no lacing.
Smell is neutral sweetness, with feint hint of citrus and tangerines, light biscuit, no yeast spice or phenols.
Taste is similar with light biscuit malt, some orange sweetness, not overdone, but then limited yeast or phenol character. I would love a bit more malt character and yeast presence.
Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, crisp, light lingering sweetness but not too dry.
Overall this was disappointing - quite limited saison like character, more like a blonde ale with hint of orange but limited malt character.

Refreshing... but ....... there is a big difference between barley soda pop and a true Belgian saison.
And in that wide range, Blood Orange Saison falls about in the middle because it lacks a true yeast.
Blood Orange Looks like soda pop. Saisons have these lively proteins swirling in your glass.
It Smells more like the real thing, but effervescence doesn't cover for having too little fruity malt.
Tastes, as I said, are more refreshing than anything. Besides the orange (Tang-like), there are not discernible spices to me.
OA: I give high marks because any brewer that thinks they can start a business in a city that has foundered for over half a decade to find its new self, well... that brewer deserves applause.

This is an awesome brew that leaves me begging for more. At a reasonable 5.5% ABV, it is sessionable yet satisfying. The beer pours a hazy amber orange, with an active, soapy head. The head disintegrates incredibly fast, leaving little aromatic in its trail. The brew gives notes of juicy citrus, including orange and lime, a bready malt character that gives the citrus a nice background, and a light dry finish with heavy farm and musty character.

Not a pro with reviews, simple review would be that this is a great beer for summer nights or spring days. It is refreshing with good sweetness along with strong hops. Nothing overpowering, just a refreshing and relaxing beer for when the weather breaks.

Came a hazed amber/burnt orange with a thinner bone white head atop.Mainly toasted grainy aromas with light phenolic esters.I got a splash of blood orange up front on the palate then some yeasty spiced notes and that toasted grain element in the finish.A little fizzy in the mouth and on the thinner side.Eh no frills but went down easy on a Wed afternoon at Pizza Plant Canal Side in B-lo.
