This looks interesting. Single barrel aged 6 months, case 9 bottle 97. Pretty sure I've had it a while but no date so not sure
Pours basically still, no head, actually nice legs, clear apple cider tan color
Nose is interesting, a strong honey smell, as well as apple concentrate, then some apple cider behind that but a light smooth apple cigar, light saison farmhouse funk and lemony notes, little cinnamon and spice, light buttery oak but aapple brandy like barrel, loads of cinnamon as it warms
Taste some sweetness, again honey out front, into big apple, sweetened baked apples, mild apple cider, no real funk but plenty of spices, cinnamon, mulling spices, light fruity notes, little acidity, more mild buttery oak and apple brandy, sticky sweet finish, some warming alcohol
Mouth is medium bodied but flat and syrupy, a little buttery slick diacetyl like, and a bit of hot alcohol
Overall mixed, the cider and oak is nice, but there's really no beer other than maybe some yeast additions, but even that I think there is diacetyl, and it was flat. I mean it's probably a few years old, but I'll never know and prob won't be able to try it again, but still a fun beverage.

On tap at Resurgence Brewing Company. This is a smoked cider saison, a hybrid and a collaboration between Resurgence and Cider Creek Hard Cider. It's apparently 45% unfermented cider, 30% barley wort, and 25% wheat wort.
Pours a golden amber color, with a small quarter inch head, and a bit of lacing.
Smells strongly apple-forward, with some tartness, and some wheat.
This is super unique, and I really enjoyed it. There's some fruity and wheaty tartness here that's excellent, that makes me wish they underwent a full lacto fermentation, to be a sort of apple berliner weisse or something. As it is now, still good. The cider component is strongly tasted, but it's still pretty beery, with smoked flavors, and some wheat bitterness.
This is pretty light bodied, with a sweet and crisp (like an apple) mouthfeel, and a medium amount of carbonation.
This was the best thing Resurgence had on during my first visit, and it makes me happy to see local brewers taking creative jumps.
