Look: Amber, with undertones of brown and yellow. Pours with a fluffy two finger beige/white head. Great head retention
after 5 minutes there is still a solid 1/4 finger full head.
Smell: Warm toast, and heavy caramel. Quite lovely, albeit slightly understated.
Taste: Nothing overwhelming, nothing offensive. Watery front end, gives way to an overwhelming caramel and sugar sweetness in the middle, Subtle English ale style tea and bitter notes on the back end help to tamp down the sweetness.
Feel: Medium bodied, plays strongly on the palate.
As .50 cents from every can is donated directly to Wounded Warriors Canada, I was happy to be drinking it today. This beer earns a B-

Another review from notes from up north.
Appearance: Brown with Crimson highlights with a slight bit of cloudiness and decent carbonation. One finger of head that didn't really stick around very long but did produce some minor lace.
Smell: Roasted caramel malt takes center stage with a sandy and almost tree sap like quality in the background. It was fairly mild and warming didn't really help it's case that much.
Taste: Camel malt sweetness that is substantially restrained by woodsy oak/cedar notes. There is also a slight presence of earthy hops that permeate the beer. I seem to recall thinking if it was the same as their Hefe that they should look into changing the hop variety.
Mouthfeel: The mixed aftertaste tends to favour the malt, which is great. The carbonation also works for the entire beer and the transitioning while not perfect was solid.
Drinkability: Medium bodied and despite it's carbonation, it's not gassy as the beer settles down well. The earthy hops really restrain the beer a bit much for me though.
Final Thoughts: Drinkable in a pinch and I do like that a portion of this beer's sale goes to Wounded Warriors Canada. This struck me very much as a fall drinker, which given it's name, is wholly appropriate as I would wager it's meant to be had around Rememberance Day. It's decent but not something you would go out of your way for, say to support the troops, which is a noble goal.

Reddish brown with particles floating within, very little haze, and almost no carbonation. Topped with a finger of beige head.
Smells of toasted malts, red liquorice, and some light, raspberry tea fruitiness.
Coffee and fruity, red liquorice, pizza dough, bread maltiness, and toasted biscuit.
Medium body, little carbonation.
Got this in Orangeville LCBO Nov 28th, 2017, and drinking it by lake Muskoka the same day. Love the idea behind this brew, of remembering ones who lost their lives in wars for our freedom. Its a solid brew in itself.

Bomber picked up at the LCBO, and listed at 5%. Best before Jan 1 2017 and served well-chilled. Glad to see that this brewery is still slowly expanding its distribution range - I can't recall any Royal City products making their way to Sarnia in the past.
Pours a deep-hued copper-amber colour with good clarity, producing one finger of loose, soapy off white-coloured head that fades within minutes. A big, bubbly collar survives the ordeal, accompanied by a smattering of lace and a few islands of big-bubbled foam floating upon the surface. Caramel and toffee on the nose, with hints of plum, toasted grains/bread, wort and candy apple. A little sweet, but that's nothing unusual for the style, really.
Easy-drinking, but a little mundane IMO. The flavours are straightforward, with caramelized sugar sweetness overlapping with plenty of gritty, grainy malts and a few bready notes. Suggestions of fruity plum mid-sip, with some earthy, dirty hop bitterness evening out the back end a little. Nearing balance, but still a little on the sweet side for my tastes. The mouthfeel is where this one starts to lose my interest a bit - the carbonation is quite weak, leading to a smooth, slippery texture that falls a bit flat in the mouth. It's easy to drink, but I'd be lying if I said I was considering picking up another bottle this year.
Final Grade: 3.39, a decent B-. Royal City's Remembrance Red is a passable amber ale, but there's plenty of room for improvement. Like most Canadian reds, this one is very much malt-driven, with the hops coming off as a late afterthought. Reminds me of something you might drink in a British pub - sessionable, with approachable flavours and a touch of fruitiness that most BAs will find tolerable at the very least (if not very interesting). For such an average product, 6 bucks a bottle is a little too rich for my blood - though the fact that they are donating 1 of those bucks to charity is quite commendable. Give it a try if you're curious, but keep your expectations tempered.

Pours a dark caramel colour with a dense off-white head. The smell is spicy and hoppy. The taste has hints of rye, along with light bitterness and toasty notes. Smooth mouthfeel

650 ml bottle served cold into a pint glass. Purchased for around $6 CDN. $1 of proceeds from every bottle goes to helping wounded warriors, so while the price is steep for a red ale, it's for a good cause.
Appearance - dark red and fairly clear with some cola colouring in certain lights. A nice little finger of rocky off-white head is poured and lingers for a few minutes.
Smell - fairly clean and some coarse grain here, nothing terribly inspiring but some caramel on the back end made this respectable.
Taste - pretty much like the nose with lots of grain and some caramel sweetness. A reasonably well executed red ale.
Mouthfeel - smooth and medium bodied with plenty of carbonation.
Overall - remembrance rd ale isn't the most memorable beer, but it's a solid red ale that is another example of a good beer to come from Royal City. May pick up another bottle while on shelves.
