Having a love for traditional English Browns we used UK Fuggles and UK Goldings hops coupled with 2-Row Pale, Crystal 15 and Chocolate malts to craft this beauty. By doubling the amount of Fuggles and Goldings recommended for the original style we introduced a slightly higher hop flavor (read Westcoast style) to the traditional English Brown, and complimented the hoppyness with the additional of Chocolate malt. With an ABV of 5.8%, an IBU of of 24 and an SRM of 21, Deer Beer Brown is smooth, refreshing and packed with character.

On tap at June Lake Brewing

A: Pours chestnut brown with a frothy khaki head that settles to a firm layer and laces nicely.

S: Toasty bread, roasty, nutty, earthy, floral, faint hint of dark fruit, and a touch of toffee sweetness.

T: Roasty, toasty, nutty, coffee, bittersweet cocoa powder, earthy spicy, herbal notes, floral, faint dark fruit, and a touch of toffee sweetness.

M: A touch on the lighter side of medium body, moderate carbonation, slightly creamy.

O: Solid brown ale. Would definitely do the job after a fall day hunting.

Pours brown with a finger of khaki foam. Aroma is toasted, nutted, and biscuit malts. Flavor profile is little watery, with toasted, nutted and biscuit malts. Light kiss of caramel at the finish. Mouth feel is thin, but refreshing. Overall, a fair brown ale.

Draft. Reviewed on phone, please excuse the brevity.

A: Malty sweet with a light caramel like aroma. coupled with a moderate earthy hoppy aroma.

A: Dark brown color, somewhat clear, with a thin white, slightly rocky head.

T: Moderate malty, slightly sweet and sticky. The beer has a moderately light earthy hop flavor with moderately light bitterness that lasts through the finish.

M: Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation.

O: Alright; the aroma and flavor feel a bit restrained and flat and could use better attenuation.
