If you like hops, but don't want a 9% beer, the Junemontane HiPA (Hoppy IPA) Collaboration Ale is for you. With a glutenous quantity of bittering hops (i.e., Millenium and CTZ), and a mind bending amount of aroma / flavoring hops (i.e., Cascade and Chinook), Junemontane goes one step further and gets dry hopped with Cascade, Amarillo and Citra hops for a freight train of hops that will stop at nothing to annihilate your palate (in a good way). As a collaboration ale developed with our good friends at Cismontane Brewing Company in Orange County, CA, the Junemontane HiPA is filled with love, friendship and unmitigated hop glory! At 7.1% ABV, 130 IBU and 6.1 SRM, the Junemontane HiPA will guide you to a hoptopia experienced by few, but pursued by hoptophiles around the globe.

Well Justin and his wife have definitely put the small alpine town of June Lake on the map.
This is a collaboration "HiPA", as they call it, with Cismontane.
The pour is orange blossom honey in hue. Short, loose frothy head.
The nose is pure bliss. Citrus notes, hints of orange blossom, and then POW...Resiny goodness.
Flavor is very consistent with the nose. The malt backbone subtly represents with a honey leaning maltiness. The Citra shines through here. But the melange of Amarillo, Cascade, and Chinook all give it that "West Coast" style, but it's more than just a hop monster. It's listed at 130 IBU's, but I find it so balanced, for this style. It's fantastic!!
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side.
It's sad that it will probably never be duplicated. Justin explained that they had to make some changes on the fly, and the result was this gem. So glad I got to have it on tap, and bring a growler to share with hophound and a neighbor. They were impressed as well.
