Sour Raspberry Belgian-style Ale
Dapper Devil. She’s sweet, she’s full of character, she’s a little devious. A dry, fruity and effervescent Belgian strong ale with raspberry sweetness.

Not a sour bomb by any means…..the sourness is soft and does not linger. The Belgian really comes through on the aftertaste with the slightest of band aid peaking through the tartness. Beautiful color previews the delicate taste of the beer. This place is known for sours and this is one of their more nuanced, balanced, and sublime offerings.I drank it with crispy beef tacos and it held up. F-you don’t judge me.

Notes from 4/23/2020.
Poured from a 12oz can into a Rastal nucleated Teku glass.
The body is clear bright cherry red with one finger of head. Retention is less than average leaving a very thin island of foam. 3.5
The aroma is medium-low in strength and has notes of sweet fruit and malt. 3.5
The taste is a bit above medium in strength. There are flavors of sour raspberry, and the end pallet is a little wine like. There's a medium bitter finish. 3.75
The feel is slightly below medium, a little creamy, and has a medium-high astringent finish. 3.75
Overall, it's very good and I could feel the high ABV 1/3 into the glass. I like trying Blue Owl beers to get out of my comfort zone. I do not like this one enough to buy it again. 3.75

I love this brewery. This is one of the funkiest takes on a Belgian Strong that you're likely to find. Being a brewery obsessed with "souring" and that whole jam, it's no surprise that they flung this style to the funkier/sourest regions and set up camp. this is all done under the banner of Raspberry - a great little nod and welcome flair to one of my favorite styles.
it's a beautiful pour, both to look at and to taste.

i really like these guys, and was excited to see a new one from them when i was in texas last week. this is a cool six pack beer, i had no idea its as strong as it is when i bought it, and it never really told me so when i was drinking it, just sort of snuck up on all of us with this higher abv, there is no sigh of it in the beer at all. its a neat sour, super clean and only moderately acidic, no more tart than the raspberries themselves in here, and seemingly more refined and even delicate on the souring than most of the other beers i have had from blue owl in the past. the color is a beautiful ruby red, shiny and clear, and it holds a nice head too. really pretty beer. aroma of fresh muddles raspberries, very ripe and juicy rather than jammy and sweet, with some neat malt backing and a wonderfully refreshing piquant element from the lacto souring. the flavor matches the nose, less malty than it looks like it would be, clean all the way through, with the fruit and the sourness leading the way, an almost salted mineral element to it, some tang from the fruit too, and a fast finish with a rush of carbonation and wash of light acidity. its delicious and drinkable, and i would be tempted to call it a summer pounder, except that the abv is so high. overall a fantastic offering from these guys, one of the best in its field ive had in awhile!

Was described to me as a Belgian strong, only tasting like a Berliner Weisse with raspberry. This is a fair description. Tried on draft st the Flying Saucer in Addison, TX.
It pours clear with a deep cherry red color and some bubbly lacing. Smells of nothing in particular. And then the taste - sour. There's a little bitterness and sweetness at the front but the tartness is dominant here. If you are OK with that, you'll enjoy this.
It has a cleaner, crisper mouthfeel than its flavor and ABV would suggest.
This one will divide opinion - if you like something that's sour raspberry first and an ale second, you'll like this, as I do.
