Originally had in 2016, having this 5 years later.
White head. Cloudy golden burnt orange color.
Very well done. Definitely to style. Citrusy, rustic, rye, bready, faint tartness, oaky. Orange peel. Very enjoyable.

Thanks to Jeff for this one. I like the shape of the bottle! 750ml capped bottle into a Surly teku. Shared with schen9303.
Looks so good it could star in its own beer commercial! Great bright goldenrod color. Nose reveals this one as a huge funk bomb. Hints of pineapple, straw, cotton, oak, huge Brett funk and a light tartness. Taste is pineapple, hay, citrus, earth and wet wood. Some peppercorn and coriander in there also finished off by a horseblanket funk and citric tartness. Pretty good. Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and aggressive in the mouth and sparkling and dry going down. Very drinkable.
I'm looking forward to some other offerings from this brewery. A really solid beer in the style.

750ml bottles purchased at the taproom.
Pours a hazy honey gold with a creamy eggshell head... tons of thick lacing.
Aroma is oak, pineapple, pear, cider, fresh grass, vanilla... they mention coconut aromas in the description and, although I probably would not have picked up on it otherwise, it's definitely evident. Excellent first impression.
Tremendous Nelson presence on the palate... white grape, pineapple, fresh grass... super juicy flavors but generally quite dry. The consistency is velvet; very easy to crush this whole bottle over the course of a meal.
If this first effort is any indication of things to come from Fair State's barrel program, we are in for a glorious ride.
