750 mL bottle. Hazy pale orange. Huge white head. Smells of earthy brett, barnyard, light doughy malt. Flavor is very mineral. Grainy. Almost metallic. Strong brett. Earthy and dry in the back end. High carbonation. Very dry. Light body. Not the most interesting saison.

this is without a doubt the best beer i have had from these guys, i just love it. pours from the tap at their brewery a very lively slightly hazy pale golden color with a tall white head in the glass, looks almost belgian in its pure white rising foaminess. awesome. the aroma is a wonderfully fruity brett strain, peaches and white wine notes right away, with dry hopped sort of juiciness too, citrus, tangerine, lemon. it appears to be wheat based, i get the dry cereal grain flavor as a foundation and then the fluffy dry body it provides as well. the brett is awesome here, really funky and mature, bright and fruity, woody too, and without any sourness to it at all. its much cleaner than other wild or partially wild beers i have had from these guys, and overall t just seems to refined. i love this brett strain, and i love how they have used it here. none of the cheesy sweaty lingering sloppy weird brett that i got in a lot of their earlier wild beers, this is way better. effervescent carbonation is a wonderful thing in a beer like this, and its so full of flavor yet so light, dry, and beautifully easy drinking. its nice to see so much improvement in their brett beers over time, this is one of the best beers they have made, and honestly one of the best minnesota beers i have ever had. top quality, very impressive stuff! if you told me this came from an allagash or a jolly pumpkin or something, i wouldnt be surprised, its at that quality level. i could have drank these until i passed out...

Brett and lemon aroma. The taste profile is also centered on Brett, funky and farmhouse-like, with lemon and pepper notes. Not much overt Saison notes. Very dry. Nice and refreshing overall, but Fair State makes better Saisons.

I've had this one a couple times now so I figured I'm ready to give it a quick little review.
Poured from a 750ml bottle into a wine glass. Pours a slightly hazy straw color with pillowy white head. Decently drawn out retention.
Aroma is definitely Brett forward with its characteristic funk leading the charge. Also some floral hops, lemon zest, and grass.
Flavor also hits hard with Brett funk. Not a tart saison but it certainly has some more rustic qualities. Fairly mild yeast spiciness as far as saisons go, but that's typically a good thing in my mind. The lemon zest from the aroma carries over into the taste too.
Light to medium body thanks to the bright carbonation. Dry finish.
Overall, a very enjoyable and approachable brett saison.

Regrettably brief impressions at a tasting:
HEAD: Starchy and white. ~6 minute retention.
BODY: Hazy yellow-orange. Vibrant and appealing.
AROMA: Floral hop character. Slight starchiness. Faint lemony twang. Brettanomyces funkiness is quite reticent.
Aromatic intensity is average.
TASTE: Follows the aroma. Rather simple and straightforward for a saison, lacking intricate spicing, nuanced brettanomyces yeast/funky presence, etc.
TEXTURE: Smooth, lightly dry, light to medium-bodied, well-carbonated, somewhat refreshing.
OVERALL: Highly drinkable. It's enjoyable, but pretty run-of-the-mill for a saison.
