Brewed exclusively with El Dorado hops, this dry-hopped pale ale was fermented with a combination of Saison yeast and Brettanomyces. Fruity, funky and hoppy!

750 mL bottle. Lightly hazy. Medium white head. Smells of strong Brett. Light citrus behind it. Tastes of Brett immediately. Aggressively so. Tropical fruit behind it. Then Brett bitterness. It's really really bitter, which I rather liked at first, but it's getting fatiguing. Good, but very strong Brett bitterness.

Poured from a 12 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Clear light golden pour with massive fluffy whtie head. Solid lacing.

S: Tart and fruity. Definite brett and funk.

T.F: Light grains to start. Citrus up front followed by Brett. Funk and a bit of tartness. Lighter tropical fruit notes. Saison yeast. Light bodied with aggressive carbonation.

O: A fun soured IPA. The brett and saison yeast really shine through with some fruit and funk. Modestly tart but not sour. Enjoyable and easy drinking.

not sure how old this bottle is, but it seems to be more mature than what others have described. interestingly enough, the hops are still super fresh in this, and honestly it might be the best expression of el dorado i have seen in a wild ale, they are so juicy and orangey, and with that, it almost seems like a mimosa, with a champagne or at least a white wine element, and a ton of bubbles rushing into a big citrus thing. new respect for el dorado! full on tangerine and lime and wild yeasts, white raw wheat, and a wonderful fruity brett thing that still seems to be evolving. i dont normally think of these beers as thirst quenching, but this one seems to be just that, hoppy too, and el dorado is rejuvenated once again, just so fantastic with this wild yeast complexion! bitterness lingers from the hops, but there is also a raw grain thing here still that should not be overlooked, and it adds to that bitter finish too i think. white wine, white grape, golden raisin, blanco tequila of the highest order, lemongrass, peach and white plum. bubbly yet thick too. pair this with a grateful dead show from the late 80s and youve really got something jazzy that should make you shake even if you are half alive...

Fair State makes it out to be a Brett IPA. Seems more like a hoppy Brett Saison to me. Doesn't matter. Me like.

Strong funky farmhouse aroma, with some pineapple and mango notes. Taste is driven by Brett and Saison yeast, with some light tropical notes. Finish is dry, crisp, funky, spicy and bitter. Despite the strong flavors, it is easy to drink and refreshing. Excellent.
