We worked with our good friends at Live Oak Brewing out of Austin, Texas, one of the greatest lager producers in the country, to craft a fine Italian pilsner for the people! By triple decocting Eraclea Pils malt, heavily hopping with Perle, and lagering extra long, we’ve built a pilsner that is both rich and velvety, but also crisp and bright.

Gold pour, slight haze, finger of white meringue on top. Nose is malt, herbal, and floral.
Taste shows me light melon, citrus, light kilned malt, sweet herbs, velvety mouthfeel. Finish sees some citrus pith and touch of resin. Not a stereotype, a good beer to try.

From a 16oz can:
Appearance: Yellow with slight haze, good head.
Smell: Lemony, hint of clove.
taste: Some citrus bitterness to start, then a very yeasty body with some clove. Finishes with a dry citrus.
Overall: This 4 pack was discounted and Fair State is good stuff so I picked one up. If I was handed this blind I'd guess it was a wheat beer or pale ale, not very pilsner-like in flavor. It was still pretty tasty, if not to style.

Can. White head. Slightly cloudy golden color.
Very grainy. Tastes like drinking a pils in Germany. Biscuit, toasted bread. Spicy, floral hops. Pretty flavorful for 4.2%. Light and crisp. Slightly bitter finish.

Flavor: Strong flavors of light citrus and tangerine notes, crisp and juicy hops with a clean palm body. Crisp and juicy on the finish. (3.75)
