Bottle of 330 ml, at home.
Golden yellow colour, with a one finger thin head that disappeared almost straight away. Quite a few bubbles rising to the top. With just a glance this looks like a normal pilsner.
Aroma is typical for a radler, very strong lemon smell, mostly artificial.
The taste is also your average radler, with the lemon flavour being so much stronger than that of beer.
Thin on the body and averagely carbonated, this serves honestly the purpose it was made for. To quench your thirst on the summer months.

'A queen amongst beers', as stated on the label.
A girls' beer, i guess.
33 cl. bottle, 50% lemonade in it, as it is.

Looks golden, with a modest white head, that disappears quickly, but good carbonation.
Smell clearly lemon, perhaps even a bit artificially lemon.
Taste similar: very artificial lemon. It's sweet, but you cannot get away from the impression you're drinking sweetened cleaning fluid.
Easy drinkable, but not really a beer, imo.
You have to be into lemon for this.

Review from BeerAdvocate magazine Vol. II Issue VIII:

The flavor of beer reaches to encompass many flavors; some are naturally there, and some are added. A good example of added is the Radler, which is simply a combo of beer and some sort of lemon mixture. Warsteiner's is half Premium Vernum, which is their Pilsner, and half lemon mixture.

Crystal-clear, pale yellow color, good lacing all around. Lemon juice sweetness or lemon drop candy and lemon oil in the aroma with a spicy backside. Very refreshing with a decent crispness and light body. Lemon oil and candy flavor sticks to the palate for the fist half, then a mild Pilsner character meshes with the lemon and brings forth grain and a kiss of hop bitterness middle to end. Finishes very dry.

We can hear the purist beer drinkers now, shaking their head in disbelief that we are reviewing a beer mix. To the naysayers, even a beer mix like this has a time a place, and for what it's worth, this beer is easy to quaff, though we wish there was a little more crispness up front.

The aroma is faintly malty with a lemon drop candy element. The appearance is pale gold with a thin head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average for the style. Overall this is a pretty junky beer. I do not want to drink this often. Good thing I had no expectation that it would be good.

12oz brown bottle poured into a mug

Warsteiner Premium Radler poured a pale clear yellow that produced a smallish size head that dissipated rather quickly. Aroma and taste is of lemon and more lemon and more lemon...get the point! Malt flavor and hop bitterness is not present at all.

Warsteiner Radler should be categorized as kind of a "beer cooler". This beer is made for "slamming" on a warm summers day especially with its very low 2.5 ABV.

I would recommend this brew to one that is not too fond of beer.

A - Poured out of the bottlem the color is close to lemonade....imagine that. Though it is very clear and poured with a finger and a half of head.

S - Ugh, it smells like cheap hotel lemon cleaner....

T - I imagine this is what hotel lemon cleaner tastes like. A lemonade flavor that seems watered down followed by a slight bitterish beer flavor.

M/D - Weak and thin mouthfeel. In hot weather where I am drinking a lot over a long day, I could really get into it.

Pours a light cloudy yellow/straw color with barely a rim of any head, low carbonation.
Smell has notes of sugar and iced-tea.
Taste is sugary, with some lemon tea flavors, very artificial.
There is absolutely no after-taste here.
Drinks very well, but it's only 2.5%. It is refreshing though and a decent buy at $2.50 a six-pack.

I'm not familiar with radler, but apparently it's a mix of beer and lemonade that the Germans drink in the summertime. Warsteiner has bottled this concoction and is now selling it to Americans. Lucky us?

Poured into a pilsner glass, the Radler looks like champagne. Light, airy, pale golden, with a big white head on top that settles faster than it should. Still, it's not bad looking. The nose is strong, pungent, and a bit abrasive in my opinion. Heavy lemon scent punctures the nasal cavity and refuses to let any other smell in. The taste, however, is much less offensive. Malty lemon flavor, but light and relatively unassuming. It could be called a light lager with the essence of lemon. Really not bad. Mouthfeel is much sturdier than expected.

Okay, so this is not a beer that I plan to rush out and stock up on, but it's also not that bad. Not too lemony or fruity, so fruit beer opponents won't be totally turned off by this. But it's malty enough to hold it's own on the beer isle at the grocery store; I've certainly had worse fruit beers. And at 2.5% ABV, it's a totally drinkable summer brew for when you want something fruity and refreshing to throw back. Seriously, this is not all that bad. I could return to this with no problem, and probably will.

Pours a very clear yellow/orange color with a small fizzy head. Tangy lemonade and beer in the nose. Tart, bright and very sweet. Lemonade and citrus initially on the front end of the palate followed by...well, Warsteiner. I could definitely see the market for this product, and a well made radler will definitely hit the spot on a hot summer day, i just didnt like this one too much.

Shockingly pale straw with colorless edges. Few bubbles can be seen rising to an eggshell colored crown that doesn't look too shabby... considering. The foam persists nicely and is sticky enough to lay down a decent amount of lace. This is pretty much what lager mixed with lemon juice should look like.

An immediate blast of skunk (despite the brown glass bottle) fades within minutes. What's left is bright, fresh, semi-natural smelling lemon that is pleasant enough. No more than a little pale graininess can be appreciated of the base beer (Premium Verum, I think).

Premium Radler doesn't taste as 'good' as it smells... not by a long shot. The lemon tastes artificial, like plastic. The sweetness tastes artificial as well, like saccharine. The 'best by' date is still several months away, so age shouldn't be a factor.

Warsteiner Premium Verum is not a good pilsener, so it isn't surprising that Premium Radler fails to impress. Even if something else was used for the base beer, the simple fact is that Warsteiner Brauerei is incapable of brewing good beer. Or, apparently, radler.

The mouthfeel is both thin and slick, which is an interesting juxtaposition, although not an especially pleasant one. While a few more bubbles might have helped, they couldn't have worked miracles.

Radler *sounds* like a good idea. That said, I haven't yet had a decent one, much less a delicious one. Sometimes, two good things are better left in their original states. Even a lemonophile (like me) will have a hard time enjoying Warsteiner Premium Radler.

Pours a clear, pale yellow. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Poor retention and poor lacing. Smells of lemon, tart malt, and slight yeast aroma. Fits the style of a Fruit / Vegetable. Mouth feel is smooth and slightly thick with a high carbonation level. Tastes strongly of lemony syrup, slight pale malt, and some yeast flavors. Wow, more of a thick lemon soda, than a beer. Definitely not worth a try.

Reviewed 2/10/2009 (bottle):

Pours an extremely clear, light amber colored body. Small white head, quickly diminishing. Carbonated malty sweet aroma. Sweet fruity citrusy. Syrupy, sweet lemony malty taste. Cider-like but then the maltiness kicks in. Very carbonated. Very cloyingly sweet and dry.

Bottle from Jungle Jim's.

A - Poured a clear yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing.

S- Moderate sweet citrus aroma.

T - Light to medium sweet flavor with a light to medium lemonade citrus sweet finish of short duration.

M - Light body with a thin texture and soft carbonation.

D - Refreshing soft fruit brew that did not meet my expectations.

Man this beer.. if you can call it that, sucks!

I can't believe the best beer selection in Corpus had this one to sample on beer sample night.

Smells and tastes like a wine cooler or something. NASTY.

I would not recommend this to anyone who enjoys craft beer.

This beer can best be summed up by german pilsner with clean flavors and a light hoppiness mixed with lemonade.

It is incredibly drinkable, but nothing special. I could down this all night during the summer and think nothing of it.

Give it a try. Don't expect anything other than a hard lemonade with some beer flavor to balance.

Picked up a 6er of this the other day... wasn't sure what to expect. Poured from the 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

The appearance is a light golden color, very fizzy with a small white head. Not really impressed with this one. There is a faint lemonish aroma, but not much else is perceptible.

The taste is STRONG lemon. Kind of like lemonade mixed with a light lager. Very interesting and different, but all in all, not very good.

I definitely will not be picking this one up again.

A : Pours a clear pale yellow color with just a little bit of head

S : Good lemon aroma, not much else

T : Exactly as I was expecting, it's a combination of a German lager and lemonade for the taste. You can get characteristics of both. The crispness and malty tastes of the lager are there along with the acidity and sweetness of the lemonade. This is the best example from a bottle that I have had. Very close to how it tastes in Germany

M : Sweet, light-bodied, a little dryness on the finish

D : Extremely drinkable. Perfect for a hot summer day. This one is pretty much perfect to style.

Ugh. Poured from the 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Body is a light golden hue topped by a brief flourish of white head that quickly vanishes. Aroma of adjunct malt and sweet, artificial citrus flavoring.
Palate is very un-beer like. Predominant flavors of lemon-lime soda and a touch of cleaning product (Pledge?), along with a bit of adjunct malt in the background. The sweetness is just this side of cloying.
Body is light and fizzy, appropriate for a radler and actually a bit refreshing. Still, I'm not a fan, and could barely manage to get down one glass of this overly sweet concoction.

Poured a pretty pale yellow with a nice 'wheat-style' white foamy head that leaves some lace ringing in it's wake as you drink down the glass.

Aroma is almost pure lemon - ala lemonade. Very little bready yeast aromas rise with it as it warms.

Taste is initially sweet and pretty much exactly what a Radler is supposed to taste like. Lemonade with some beer. Slight aftertaste from the wheat with a bit of drying but still very sweet lemonade.

To me, this beer is very much 'to style' and I can see it as being a light, refreshing summer afternoon drink that wouldn't get in the way of the rest of your day due to the very light ABV.
I can't help but think that many of the other reviewers of this beer really don't know what they are reviewing.
It's a Radler and as such I think it is a really good one.

Pours a very clear golden fizzy brew. There is a very small head that goes away very quickly.
Smell doesn't have much to do with beer at all. All I can smell is lemon-lime soda.
Taste does not have much to do with beer either. There is a bit of malt, but mainly a lemon-lime soda taste.
The mouthfeel is very refreshing. A lot of carbonation that is crisp and enjoyable.
Drinkability is good because of the low amount of alcohol and the general lack of beer taste. I would not really recommend this beer. It tastes more like soda than beer. Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy is a much better version of a similar thing, because it has a good wheat beer taste to it that this beer lacks.

From notes 7-12-08

Received this as a free handout from a co-worker at the Party Source.

Eye: Fizzy yellow beer...need I say more. I'm actually surprised that this beer formed a head to begin with...would've thought that the acidic lemonade would destroy any possibility of a head forming. It does quickly recede to a thin film though. Nothing impressing here. As a matter of fact, the look of this beer combined with the aroma makes the thin blanket that could be called a head look more like the fuzzy white stuff on citrus fruits when peeled, esp. oranges.

Nose: This is something new for me. This is the first beer cocktail I've ever drank besides the black and tan. The aroma isn't all that appalling, it smells of sour lemonade, fresh hand squeezed, and skunky warsteiner. I'm sure that the beer isn't actually skunked, I'm thinking that its coming more from the hops...just seems to stand out to me as odd and it doesn't really seem to mix all that well with the lemonade aroma.

Tongue: Lemonade. The taste of lemonade overwhelms the palate so that there is nothing else to be tasted. Once it has been swallowed there is some slight bitterness that could be associated with beer. This is closer to a Malternative. This is not beer, its really a shame that this is bottled...or for that matter even produced....and even furthermore thought of. It is one thing to mix beer with lemonade at a bar when hundreds of cyclists come into the bar wanting a drink. You don't have enough beer so what do you do? Well mix it with lemonade on a hot summer day to make some cash. But this, this bottling of this shit is the epitome of disgusting as opposed to any great epiphany. This will do more damage than the atomic bomb, it is heresy, blasphemy, the anti-christ of all things beer.

Mouthfeel and Drinkability: Light on the palate. It is easy to drink but who would want to, if you want a beer don't look here. This is basically low alcohol carbonated lemonade. Thank god I didn't buy this, and I never will.

Pale amber color with a fizzy white head that disipates quickly. The aroma is lemon-lime soda with just a hint of light malt. The taste is basically the same, fairly sweet lemon overcomes all but a hint of lager in the background. Not really my kind of drink although it is a bit less sweet than straight 7-Up, easy enough to drink on a hot summer day and you could go through quite a few of these without getting "wasted".
