16oz can served in a Monhegan pint glass. Can is dated 06/30/23. @WunderLlama sent both the glass and the can to me, possibly associated with NBS BIF #17, possibly out of pure caprice.
Pours very clear light yellow, a bit less than a finger of head that settles into a pretty well sustained thick skin. Smell is bread yeast and a hint of lemon, if I concentrate hard enough I get pretty clear citra notes.
Taste is pretty serious about the citra hops. Strong resinous bitter, which doesn't seem appropriate for the style, strong citrus vibes, also seems inappropriate for the style. Moderate breadiness, light honeysuckle.
Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium or the heavy side of light. Overall...I do really like this beer, but it doesn't seem much like a kolsch to me.

Craft beer, 10 miles out to sea
New brewery for me
Brewers notes: Pilsner malt, a touch of wheat, and German Kölsch yeast give this beer its traditional light body and slightly sweet flavor. Unlike traditional Kölsch, a generous amount of Citra hops give it a punch of citrusy aroma and hoppy bitterness. Perfect for summer!
