Draft: Poured a pale amber color ale with a large foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of nice spicy malt notes with light juicy grapes notes and nice faint funky ester. Taste is a nice mix of funky ester with some nice juicy grape notes and light rye malt notes. Body is about average with a greasy feel and good carbonation. Enjoyable saison with a nice mix of drinkability and complexity.

From notes from a recent trip to Ottawa
Appearance: Very low carbonation with no head, but I'm going to give it some leeway, as all the beers here seemed a bit low on the carbonation side. Seems like a fairly clear bright amber.
Smell: White wine and a mixed of caramel malt and barley grain with good potency that didn't need warming to come out.
Taste: Very much like drinking white wine, specifically Riesling cut with Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay but very bright taste as those hints of grain come out as it progresses with a touch of earth at the end.
Mouthfeel: Very clean, but a bit boozy which is kind of what this beer is going for with it's mild white wine aftertaste. Carbonation is a bit low, but again I'm going to give some leeway as this is the third beer in a row from the same location that suffered this issue.
Drinkability: Medium body with a low carbonation makes it easy to drink and the higher ABV makes it so you are basically drinking light wine. That said, you certainly are getting more then a wine glass worth of wine with this one so that's a bonus.
Final Thoughts: I explicitly noted on this one "Good, but why not just drink white wine? Grain maybe?" of which that and the earth notes are the only beer contributions to this offering. I guess if you wanted to extend your glass and get about as tipsy I suppose. That said, I find that a theme with a lot of "Wine barrel aged" offerings. This was still a great beer, but it needs to step out of the shadow of its aging a bit more.
