16oz undated can.
Pours opaque black with a voluminous head of tan. Minimal retention after the retreat and smeary lacing. Hints of chocolate, espresso, marshmallows, and nuts. On the fuller side of medium bodied with a creamy, almost oily mouthfeel. Dark chocolate with vanilla and hazelnut on the palate. Finishes sweet with lingering cocoa, mallow, and nuts but thinnish.
Tasty mini-style pastry stout.

On tap at The Ginger Man in Boston, MA.
This one pours a very dark black color, with a small white fluffy head, and lots of lacing.
This smells incredibly vibrant and bold for the lower ABV, with the coconut coming through strong - just gobs of sweet candied coconut flavor and fresh fudgy chocolate coming through. There's some vanilla frosting on the nose too.
The depth of flavor and thickness of body is incredible here for the lower ABV - absolute wizardry. It's really drinkable, too.
This is my first stout from Barreled Souls - it's a style I know they do well. This shows some real brewing skill.

Very good aroma and taste. Notes of cake batter comes through nicely. Amazing how much flavor they created with only a 4 percent alcohol beer. Good stuff.
