500ml bottle served in a pair of WABL sample glasses. Bottle date 03/31/2022, bottle number 769/840. Got it from @sulldaddy in NBS BIF #17 retaliation. Has the skimpiest wax dip I've ever seen, barely covers the metal cap.
Pours black, super thick; little head, but what forms sticks around. Seems to have a little active carbonation. Smell is very boozy, woody, burnt toffee and vanilla.
Taste is chocolate and sweetness, vanilla, molasses a little, sticky toffee pudding. Tiny bit of barrel char seems to lurk in the background. Not sure exactly what is balancing out the sweetness, but it's not over sweet. This tastes really good. Like, exceptionally good.
Mouthfeel is thick and chewy without being sticky or cloying. This is an excellent beer.

375ml waxed and capped bottle into a Side Project snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Pours dense, dark. No head, thin legs that hug the glass. Nose is chocolate, molasses, and booze. There's an artificial sugar aroma here that doesn't quite smell right. Some burnt malt as well. Beer opens sickly sweet. I get honey, molasses, and chocolate up front. Sweet cream, vanilla, fudge, and chocolate in the middle. Sweet booziness with notes of honey, and a touch of sweet soy sauce in the end and aftertaste. Body is medium to full with low carbonation. Slick on the palate but a bit thin. Oily finish with a long, lingering, filmy aftertaste.
This is decidedly mediocre.
