L: Pours an opaque, pitch black color with motor oil consistency. Has a 1" tan head that slowly dissipates.
S: Exuberant nose of roasted malt, coffee, cacao nib, and caramel. Subtle hints of oak.
T: Primarily coffee and rich chocolate, with a little sweet vanilla from the oak.
F: Full in body with excellent carbonation and a long finish. Doesn't feel extremely thick or syrupy.
O: This was fantastic, and one of my favorite BA stouts that I've had in years. There is just a kiss of oak on this, which really suits my palate for this beer style and makes it very drinkable. The 12% ABV is well-hidden and the robust aromas and flavors of the beer really shine.
