Clear rosy red under a good opening head. Smells of berries on gentle hops. Dry overall, thin-bodied. Gently fruity, not sweet in any degree. Soft stuff, drinkable.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated May 12 2020 and served slightly chilled.
Pours hazy but translucent, coloured orange-amber with a very slight pinkish hue. A thin cap of bubbly, soap-scummy head wilts within a matter of seconds; a thin collar lives on, but the surface and glass are otherwise barren. Looks a tad dull, and the aroma isn't much more interesting - there're notes of doughy, wheaty malts and a hint of berry sweetness, but not much else to mention... maybe a touch of hop earthiness as it warms. Smells like a basic, lightly fruited, summer wheat ale.
Bingo - though the berry (or, more accurately, berry juice) does come through a bit more in terms of the flavour profile vs. the nose. That's probably for the better, because the underlying wheat ale doesn't have much to say for itself - it's a clean, bready sweet note in the background, providing structural support for more prominent flavours of blackberry and raspberry. These carry through to the finish, where they're joined by a hint of earthy, weedy hop bitterness; this is comparatively brief, with only the berries and a doughy sweetness managing to last into the aftertaste. Light-medium in body, with aggressive carbonation that remains prickly and crisp right to the bottom of the glass.
Final Grade: 3.49, a B-. Brimstone's Last Ride is a refreshing summertime wheat beer with a bit of a fruity berry kick to it, so if that's what you're looking for in a light beer, don't hesitate to give this one a go. As someone who doesn't necessarily buy fruit beers on a regular, repeated basis, I will say that I finished my glass without a fuss... but the name 'Last Ride' is unfortunately apt, in that if this beer were a rollercoaster, I doubt I'd have been thrilled enough with the experience to head back to the queue for another trip around.

Pours gold coloured with no tinge of pink or red. The smell / taste is tart kind of like raspberries. I’ve never heard of Loganberry before but now I’m intrigued. Present but faint flavour. Overall ok

Loganberry ale, on tap at Duke's Refresher Bar. Pinkish colour and lace. Good berry smell, although tastes puree. Medium mouthfeel. Decent Summer offering.
