"Our homage to the great smoked beers of Bamburg, this Rauchbier is a smoked dark Lager brewed in London. Drawing on a decade of commitment to celebrating this style, the Rauchbier is brewed with a unique smoked malted barley, kilned over open beechwood fires. "

While A&H has a 6.9 ABV called The Rauchbier, it has not been reviewed for over three years. So, I think this drop of over 20% in ABV is a different recipe. (IMHO reading the reviews, the 5.5 is not as full.)
This Rauchbier does Look inviting, white head on a sleep mahogany body. Smells are not what I expected, having gotten used to the Bamberg masters; a relatively faint smoke rises from these malts. Tastes are balanced, but also less complex than well-smoked malts. Light to medium-mouthed; but still soft for an all barley brew.
This is my second from A&H. (The previous was a Pale in 2019.) At that time, their website was not developed for a micro over 7 years old. Now it is developed well enough for a 12 year old... and A&H has opened another site. I still hope to visit them on Bermondsey's Brewers Mile, but for now their canned brews are enough.
