Picked this up via a trade with a friend a few weeks back, as he had gotten this directly from Florida. Haven't had a lot from J. Wakefield so far though I've hard that they are up-and-coming. Based on this beer, I didn't see what the hype was about as this didn't taste lie an American Wild Ale at all, given how strong the apple flavor was.
The pour and look this was the best aspect of this as the cloudy, golden hue and great head were quite pleasing to look at. Even better was the lacing that was left behind as it was in the form of thick rings that slid down to the next, covering much of my pint glass up. Tons of apple in the aroma to go along with some cider and tartness with more of the fruit flavor in the taste. Light like champagne, there was enough carbonation to make me think that this might have been that as the cinnamon was underneath that and not too strong at the same time. Some pear and light fruit was here as this finished relatively clean while missing the funkiness of a true Wild Ale.
This was misleadingly easy to drink as I couldn't feel the alcohol until I finished off the can. It would have been nice to see when the date was as this tasted fresh, but not quite what I expected it to be. Not quite a beer nor a cider, this was perfect for a night like this when fall was just starting to make itself felt. Would be great to give it another go just to see how much of an anomaly this beer really was!

A: Apple and cinnamon aromas upfront that follows with a moderately light sourness
A: Light golden color, slightly hazy with a thin white uniform head that has adequate retention.
T: Apple flavor coupled with light cinnamon upfront, followed by a well-integrated, lingering sourness.
M: Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Tasty; graf is not an easy style to pull off properly and requires a great balance between cider and beer. This beer in particular has a really interesting apple and cinnamon aroma and flavor that has a zippy mouthfeel. The beer manages to be not sweet and the lingering sourness provides an interesting contrast.

Pours a hazy lemon/yellow color with a thin white head, a small amount of lacing as you drink this. Smells of tart apples and spice cinnamon and pear. Taste is very good tart sour apples with honey crisp cinnamon mix well then some sour white fruits mix in. Mouth feel is tart and dry with sour fruit and cinnamon, a salty after taste like a Gose. Loved the apple/cinnamon in this wild ale.
