First time drinking from this famous brewery, and hopefully I'm not experiencing the best they have to offer. The idea seems to be to brew a medium-light-bodied saison with a fruit punch of citrus, ferment half the best fruity/sweet characteristics out of it, and then dry hop until the rest is gone too.
Not that this is necessarily a bad thing. I wasn't expecting it to be so dry, crisp, and mild when it's brewed with 7 different citrus fruits, but it's still fairly likeable. Smell reveals mandarine rind, oddly strawberry, and a classic light, spicy yeasty flavor. Lots going on, citrus-wise, but simply not tasty enough to want too dwell on. Rather dry finish with only a bit of lasting bitterness makes this beer an easy way to part with far more money than most of the other beers on my World of Beer menu would demand.
