The first in our Dark Arts series of non adjunct BA stouts is Crucio. Crucio is one of the most evil spells in one of our most beloved book series. This imperial stout was aged in both 10 year Woodford Reserve and Taconic Bourben barrels for 18 months. Extremely dark brown in color, full bodied with notes of chocolate roast and smooth barrel character. As the beer warms, more notes of the boozy barrel spirit rounds off the slight caramel sweetness of the base beer.

Burnt black with a short tan head that recedes to a creamier curled ring.
God damn is this richly saturated with excellent dark fruit like spiced, cocoa dusted date paired with dark Reisen-like caramels and a drying charred oak exhale.
Mildly viscous, warming, and prickly semi-dry.
This is excellent.
