After aging our bold Imperial Stout in Jameson Irish Whiskey casks for 12 months, the resulting beer is undoubtedly greater than the sum of its parts. With warming notes of brown sugar, milk chocolate, burnt caramel, and Ceylon cinnamon, there’s just a little sweetness, just a little light in Some Dark Hollow.

Poured a pitch-black color with 3-to-4 fingers of khaki tan frothy-to-fizzy head which dissipated quickly. Good watery lacing. Bad retention. (Sight - 3.50)
Smelled milk chocolate, toasted oak, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, cocoa, rye whiskey, peppery spice and plum. (Smell - 4.25)
Taste wasn’t quite as good as the nose, but close. Got milk chocolate, toasted oak, spicy rye, whiskey, cocoa, caramel, toffee, peppery spice, plum and chewy crayon. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Long, smooth finish. (Feel - 4.75)
I think I undervalued this overall. Probably better than excellent. Just lovely. (Overall - 4.25)

this one’s curious. the jameson cask aging renders a wonderful finish to a very strong stout. it seems so mature and refined. the feel is almost perfect. the look and smell seem to suffer though. no head really and the only smell is irish whiskey, which is nice. the taste is very good but it misses any stoutness. still, very good.

A beer brewed in Inglewood and aged in Jameson casks? Sure, let’s do it. And Raul is ok that he did. I mean, I’m not as excited as I was when I held hands with Michelle Thornton at the skating rink in the 4th grade. Think more so scoring some gum and a dinosaur sticker in the .25 cent machine right after said skate.
I’m outta here.
