This is for the non-Sour version. They are somewhat similar beers, but I feel that the Sour version actually tempered the slightly unbalanced cherry snap of this one.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Label is '2016 Vintage'.
Dark ruby body with long lasting pink tinged cap and good lacing.
Aroma is cherry and tart, with background sweet yeast.
Cherry taste, sweet juice, more tart skin, funk barnyard.
Smooth, easy drinking mouth feel.
Definitely a fruit flavored farmhouse ale. More sweet cherry than funk.

750 mL bottle. Pours a deep red with a lightly pink head. Pretty. Not a pungent aroma. Earthy yeast and some cherry, but no sweetness or tartness. The taste is dominated by cherry. Up front, it's nice. Sweet cherry juice. For a moment, I thought of New Glarus. But then it goes awry. It becomes earthy, soapy, a little bit acidic. Cherry never goes away, but its sweetness no longer combines well with the beer. Medium body, maybe medium heavy from sugars. Well carbonated. The first sip was very off-putting. Subsequent ones grew one me, but not by a whole lot.

L: brilliant cherry red with a pink tinted foam stand with moderate retention. Continual streams of bubbles rapidly rise from the bottom of the glass.
S: Restrained cherry aromas balance with the Belgian yeast ripe to over ripe fruit aromas.
T: very creamy palate with balanced cherry, malt and Belgian yeast flavors. The cherry flavor is medium and provides a gentle tartness. The grain flavors are medium to medium low and evoke a little pie crust. A mild hop bitterness works with light touch of tannin to provide a little drying and structure on the finish. The Saison shows up in a big way in My Doe Eye's soft, creamy texture.
F: The body is medium to medium light. Carbonation soft and high.
O: This is a flavorful, well balanced beer.

Received in a trade.
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice dark ruby hue with a one finger pink head that fades to leave light wisps and a thin head.
S - Aromas of rather light saison esters, not really French farmhouse but more generic. The cherries are almost non-existent.
T - Taste is nice sweet and sour cherries, bright yet tart. Quickly though it transitions to a cough syrup. Finish is more cherries though again it's syrupy.
M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp, clean.
O - Overall this is a rather solid cherry saison. If not for the syrupy qualities this would be much better.

Big fizzy foamy 1 finger pink head fades slowly with nice lacing, semi clear dark cranberry mahogany beer.
Nose fair cherry, candy sweet malt and candied cherry, other tree fruits almost berry like, dried cranberry little tart jammy fruit, little saison sweet, American like sweet malty saison, mild ester phenol thing.
Taste brings big sweet candy cherry jam, cherry preserves, tart cherry and set, jammy tree fruit, syrupy candy, touch cough syrup, very little sweet saison, American meh saison, touch phenol, fruity esters, grainy malt thing. Finish dry slight sticky, big cherry cough syrup and cherry skin, candy.
Mouth is med void, little syrup, nice carb at least.
Overall mixed, good cherry initially, then turns cough syrup.

Doe Eyes pours a red color with a pink lacing head. Weak aromas of dry fruits. The taste had a big dry cherry aroma, with a strange bitter aftertaste. Good body and feel. Overall, big flavors are dry fruit, the bitterness hurts this one.

tasty take on the saison here, bright red in color, really almost unnatural looking in appearance, without much head remaining after the initial pour. it has a great nose though, sweet and tart at the same time from the fruit, rather authentic cherry aroma, mouthwatering, and still with the fruity saison yeast bold enough to come through all the cherry. the flavor is nice too, very sweet, more than it smells like it would be, and it doesnt quite get cleaned up in the finish, i think a drier version would be much preferable, but i like the true flavor of the cherry, juicy and summery and unmistakable. not very much grain flavor to this, most of that is covered up by the intense fruit, but the yeast still has some cool flavor, white wine and saltwater taffy, a little lemongrass, its a good match with the cherry. it lacks carbonation, the only real negative for me, as much as i like this, it needs to feel a little more alive. when i was at insight, they had this one, a raspberry, and a blackberry version, and the cherry was really the only one to lack the bubbles. still, fun summertime brew, these guys are cool!

Raspberry color. Pink hued white head.
Tons of cherry pie filling flavor. Not too tart, more clean. Same saison spice as the others. Reminds me of ng Belgian red.
Medium bodied. Clean. Ends with a dry bland flavor, however.
Very fruity. Easy to drink.

Wow wasn't expecting much from this one but it tastes exactly like a souped up New Glarus Belgian red. I am impressed. Actually... it seems to have a milder flavor than belgian red but has twice the alcohol not sure how that works... it has the best freshest sweet/sour cherry finish that I could ever imagine I usually hate this type of beer and this was fucking awesome... its like drinking a light bodied 7% alcohol cherry.. wow
