Pours very dark old copper and cloudy. A short-lived, fine, brown head leaves no lacing on a Nedloh tulip glass. Dark garnet highlights show with each swirl as a thick, viscous film that almost produces legs.
The aroma is fruity with vinegar and a slight booze. Fermented cherries give way to herbal undercurrents of sage and dark sharp spices.
The flavor is very astringent and overpowering the tart sour qualities. Red wine dominates meek cherries and faint grapefruit. The long acidic finish raises sour flavors.
A medium body with a nylon texture and fine, light carbonation. Alcohol is as expected though the astringency is not. Fusil alcohol deviates from the style guideline.
This is a decent beer and a fine attempt at a sour ale. Unfortunately, time will deny Nedloh the ability to develop as they have now closed.
