Cloudy, golden color. Big, white head. Tropical fruits, peach, and melon are in the aroma. Juicy, smooth taste with moderate hoppy bitterness. Well done.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 6/27/22 into a snifter.

Look- Pale gold, very hazy, opaque, fine white head, below average head retention, average lacing.

Smell- Clementine, ripe melon, pineapple.

Taste- Clementine, ripe melon, grapefruit, moderately astringent.

Feel- Medium body, substantially below average carbonation, mild bitterness, moderately creamy, moderately astringent.

Overall- Very pleasant bouquet and flavors. Astringency was a major detractor, but the ripe melon flavors did offset some of the astringency.

 

 

 

 

I am trying this beer off the tapper at The Daily Growler in Powell, Ohio as part of a six sample flight. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had fresh tangerine and orange notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with fruit peel spice of apricot, guava, and stone fruit. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

 

 

Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (10% clarity) medium to light orange color with a mild white head. SRM of 7. (4.00)

Aroma: Strong aromas of candied pineapple and mango upfront. Some over-ripe orange and cantaloupe melon. An almost paint-like sweet candied pineapple and mango. (4.00)

Flavor: Strong and candied flavors of lemon, candied pineapple, sweet mango. Some lightly astringency citrus and pineapple notes. Green kiwi, melon, and coconut notes. Very tropical. The finish is sweet with some hopburn. (4.25)

Feel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Leaves a hop burn and sweetness on the palate. (3.75)

Compared to Equilibrium Mast Theory 8/6/22: Pours a lighter color, milder head. More sweet candied pineapple, orange, and paint. Less creamy mango, papaya, guava, creamsicle.

Compared to Drekker Doubly Blessed 3/2023: Pours darker, clearer, similar head. Stronger aromas. More green guava, citrus, pineapple. Less sweaty orange and glue. More juicy. Winner: Hater Blockers

Compared to Drekker Metaphase 3/2024: Pours identical. Stronger aromas. Less grapefruit, white grape, citrus zest. More green melon, guava, kiwi and tropical pineapple, and coconut notes. Sweeter.

Overall: Not the best offering from Drekker. This one has appreciable hop burn. Overripe orange, pineapple, and cantaloupe flavors. Paint-like. A lingering hop burn. Finish was sweet and low carbonation. Not up to par with their usual products. (Rating: 3.62)
On a subsequent review when more fresh, this one nicely showcased the green guava, orange, melon, and pineapple. Somewhat floral. Nice Sabro hops here and much better the second time around. (Rating: 4.08+ or -)
